How Often Should You Get a Master Health Checkup?

For optimal health, it is advised to undergo a Master Health Checkup annually. Regular checkups help in monitoring changes in your health and catching any concerns early.

Steps Involved in the Health Checkup

To ensure a smooth and efficient health checkup process, please follow these steps:

• Arrival on an Empty Stomach (7:30 a.m.)
  Please arrive at the hospital on an empty stomach for your health checkup. Avoid consuming food, tea, or coffee before the tests.
• Registration
  Upon arrival, head to the reception counter where you will be registered for the checkup. You will need to provide your name, age, gender, address, and contact information.
• Payment
  After registration, please make the required payment at the cash counter.
• Health Checkup Chief Availability (From 7:30 a.m.)
  The Chief of the Health Checkup Department will be available at the reception to assist with any queries.
• Blood and Urine Samples (15 minutes)
  Blood and urine samples will be taken on an empty stomach. The report for these tests will be available after approximately 5 hours.
• Ultrasound Abdomen (1-2 hours)
  You will undergo an ultrasound of the abdomen, which may take around 1 to 2 hours, depending on the queue.
• Breakfast Break
  After the initial tests, you can proceed to the hospital canteen for breakfast (cost: Rs. 60/-). The menu includes idli, dosai, and coffee/tea. Please note that the breakfast is prepared in a hygienic manner, but it is simple and meant for hospital patients. If you prefer, you can visit a nearby hotel for your meal.
• Chest X-ray (30 minutes to 1 hour)
  A chest X-ray will be taken, and this process usually takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
• ECG (30 minutes to 1 hour)
  You will undergo an Electrocardiogram (ECG) to assess heart function, followed by a Postprandial (PP) blood sugar test at the laboratory. This process will take approximately 1½ hours.
• Primary Doctor Consultation & BMI check
  After the initial tests, you will be interviewed by the primary doctor at the Health Checkup Department, where a Body Mass Index (BMI) check will also be conducted.
• Echocardiography (1-2 hours)
  If required, an echocardiogram will be performed. This process may take up to 2 hours depending on the number of patients. In some cases, this test may be skipped if you are not medically fit for it.
• Treadmill Test (20 minutes)
  If the doctor recommends it, a Treadmill Test (TMT) will be conducted. The test takes around 3 to 4 hours to complete accurately. Please ensure you bring an attendant with you if undergoing a TMT.
• Lunch Break
  After completing all the tests, you can return to the canteen for lunch.
• Report Collection & Consultation with Chief Doctor
  Once all your reports are ready, your case sheet will be reviewed by the Chief Doctor. We understand that some patients may have traveled long distances, and we will do our best to expedite the process. The doctor will then review your results and provide any necessary prescriptions.
• Dietician Counseling (15 minutes)
  After your consultation, you will meet with our dietician for personalized dietary advice based on your test results.
• Feedback & Suggestions
  The entire checkup process typically takes about 8 hours. We value your feedback and suggestions for improvement, and we encourage you to share them with us.
